Comanche Hokum, a combat flight simulator showcasing two state-of-the-art low-level attack choppers, the American RAH-66 Comanche and the Russian Ka-52 Hokum B, will be fully localized into Russian. Scheduled for release in late April, Empire's Comanche Hokum is the next contribution to the fast-growing strength of the new joint publishing level Nival/1C.
Nival/1C unique distribution model proved itself extremely efficient in penetrating all segments of software market and effectively confronting piracy, providing the novel opportunity for European and American publishers to sell thousands of copies of their titles in Russia, reaching circulation previously attainable only in the U.S. and major European markets. Following the stunning success of Nival's first localized title, Cryo's Atlantis II, Nival acquired Cryo's entire production line for the 1Q'99, including four titles to be published simultaneously in Europe and Russia, and now continues with the Empire's Comanche Hokum.
"We are paying special attention to the quality of translation and sound recording, which is the primary requirement of Russian audience, - says Serge Orlovsky, President of Nival Interactive. I am extremely delighted to take the challenge of Empire's new exiting title. I am convinced that Comanch Hokum will be received by Russian gamers as warmly as have been our previous both home-developed and localized titles."
Comanche Hokum is a combat flight simulator showcasing two state-of-the-art helicopters; the American RAH-66 Comanche and the Russian Ka-52 Hokum B. The game features a new 3D-accelerated terrain engine specifically designed for low-level helicopter combat, as well as key gameplay features such as fully dynamic multi-player, intensely detailed graphics and all-weather missions.
Comanche Hokum provides an accurate simulation of both helicopters including realistic flight dynamics, authentic weapons systems and detailed cockpits, displays and instruments. You can fly as both pilot and co-pilot/gunner and the crew is fully animated to increase the immersion.
Comanche Hokum features three diverse, real world combat zones, accurately modeled from digital data. The landscapes have rugged terrain ideally suited to low-level helicopter combat and making 'line of sight' tactics a real part of the game play.
The campaign 'engine' is fully dynamic and reactive. There are no scripted events or outcomes. The war rages continuously, even when you are at a base re-arming and re-fuelling. You fly realistic missions with your wingmen and can co-ordinate attacks via radio messages. Your skill and judgement will determine success or failure. There are options to configure the game for both novice and accomplished players.
